hi, this is squid. this lil guy showed up on my back porch a few weeks ago, covered in fleas but not too terrified. he camped out in a box for the night and then we got him cleaned up, de-flea’d, and fed. now he’s a healthy, playful, but relatively chill lil dude and I’d love to find him a nice home that is not mine because, while he is really cute and so far pretty well behaved, I really, really do not want to live with a cat, like, at all, ever again. I am even willing to drive him a reasonable distance if you are not in philadelphia.
please, if you know of anyone looking to adopt a cat in the area, let them know about squid. I have a feeling he’s a good one (or, as good as a cat can be)

A Decade Under the Influence… Taking Back Sunday’s Where You Want To Be is officially 10 years old :3

I very specifically remember making my mom drive me to the mall in a huge thunderstorm because I had to buy this CD the day it was released. I’m pretty sure it was the only good part of that whole month because I was a whiney lonely baby emo stuck in the suburbs avoiding my summer reading and lawn mowing chores. being fifteen was soooo hard.

just picked up the first roll I shot on my new camera, which I bought almost solely because it includes a multiple exposure function. taking photos has felt so stale lately so I thought maybe things would improve if I started piling images onto the same negative.

does anyone else remember when the first fightoffyourdemons website launched in 2005 or 2006 and it was just a cryptic slideshow of studo/tour snapshots / handwritten notes and anecdotes / weird ~enigmatic~ texts? being a fifteen year old obsessed with brand new aside, that website was weirdly really influential to my own art practice, and actually might still be.

The LE SIGH presents: Tomboy, Mannequin Pussy, Marge, and Littler @ The SIlent Barn 072014. (Photos taken by Jessica-Joan Causing)

(side note: we got there a little late so we couldn’t take pictures of Littler, but trust me, they ruled. - Jess)

Some v rad pictures of our show last night :)

Thanks to everyone who played + came out to show their support!

This was fun. I’m glad we played. It was cool to see buddies and all the bands that played were awesome. We drove back to boston after the show and got back into the city at 6am and then I slept for an hour and a half and somehow made it to work on time at 9am.

hey emily it’s you

Back in 2011, Remainder started tracking a 4-song EP. Spread between Brooklyn, DC, and Pittsburgh, momentum slowed and the album and band were neglected. As a surprise birthday present to our own drummer, the recordings were finished and plans are in place for a physical vinyl release and album release.

This album functions as closure for a band that fell into an ellipsis. Never better than late.

dang, this is so good
